Overview:

The Med-Mizer PR1000 Pivot Bed is a unique bed. The Pivot works as an adjustable bed while assisting with standing, sitting upright, and transferring in and out of bed. The pivoting ability of the bed enables it to become a seat where the user can place their feet on the floor and more easily and safely exit or enter the bed. Thus making shifting, scooting, and swinging one’s legs over the side of the bed unnecessary. Special rollers on the head section help to prevent the mattress from bunching when the bed is in the sitting position. The rollers greatly decrease pressure on the user’s lower back through proper positioning via the bed’s extensive adjustability.

What Makes This Different:

The Med-Mizer Pivot Bed is adjustable at the head and foot as well as the overall height. All positioning adjustments can be made with hand pendant which comes standard with the Pivot. What really makes the Pivot Bed different is the ability to be disconnected at the foot section. A caregiver can easily push the foot section away from the sleeping surface to create a sitting surface that is just like a chair. The foot section will now be out of the user’s way making transfers, care, and therapy much easier and safer. The Pivot Bed features a unique sheet design due to its moving parts. A set of sheets comes standard with purchase, but an additional set is recommended.

Mattress Descriptions:

Xtenda Care – The cover is an anti-shear nylon, treated to be both fluid and vapor proof. The cover is sewn with a slight billowiness which allows each person’s unique shape to descend safely and comfortably into their sleep surface. The foam has a strong, stable cell structure that will provide long-term cushioning comfort. The XtendaCare’s soft top, over supportive layers and strong laminations, maximize comfort, pressure redistribution and durability. XtendaCare mattresses do have a 10-15 business day lead time.

Rest-Q Pressure Redistribution – A vapor proof, shear reducing top cover will not fade or crack. A highly resilient top cushion conforms and responds to body contours and bony prominences. An upper torso support rests beneath the top layer to support the back and shoulders. Embedded within the core are supportive sections that underlie the hips and shoulders. Between these support sections is a soft, pressure absorbing strip to help bridge the patient’s pressure sensitive areas along the spinal column and sacrum. When lying on your side, the trochanter rests over this center strip. Extra support is focused beneath the hips providing the right bland of comfort and support where the majority of the user’s weight is concentrated. A firm base layer ensures that heavier patients remain supported without bottoming out. A heal suspension system supports the lower legs while allowing the heels to float. An ultra firm perimeter support facilitates safer, more secure transfers and prevents edge-of-bed collapse and side rail entrapment. Rest-Q mattresses are available for Quick-Ship.
